Tips to Boost Creativity
Thursday, June 25, 2009 Whether or not you're a designer, sometimes we all feel the need to take a deep breathe and refresh our minds. Even top Houston graphic designers have to recharge and reignite their creative spirits to inspire successful designs.
Brainstorm
Brainstorm by doodling or jotting ideas in a notebook. Write or script any thought that comes to mind, even if it seems silly or unrelated to the topic.
Change Your Atmosphere
If you can't free your mind to make room for new ideas, go for a walk or a drive. Changing your atmosphere can help stimulate your brain. Observing new places, people and scenery can help place unexpected ideas into your thought process.
Research
Exercise your brain by reading. If you find yourself stuck, find a topic-related book, magazine or website. Start reading the advice of experts in the field. You'll be surprised at the number of new and enlighting concepts that will fill your brain.
Listen to Music
Take a few minutes and daydream to your favorite music. Studies show that music stimulates brain cells, especially music similar to that of Bach and Beethoven.
Relax or Play
Your brain can become tired and overloaded. Make time to play. Reserve an hour or two to enjoy a hobby, take a nap, eat lunch or hang out with friends. Google leaders require their employees to take at least two hours in the day to do whatever they wish to refresh their energy and creative juices.
